Muhammad Zaheer Iqbal
Muhammad Zaheer Iqbal joined Orient Takaful PJSC as our new CFO / Senior Vice President - Finance in 2025. He brings over 28 years of rich experience in financial leadership, strategic planning, and business growth particularly in his professional career. He started off his career with Ernst & Young and later worked for global fortune 500 companies in the Middle Eastern insurance sector. Prior to joining Orient Takaful, he was a Group CFO at one of the largest takaful operator in the UAE. He was a team member in the operational review of insurance sector reforms on behalf of Asian Development Bank. He has managed multi-billion-dirham investments on behalf of policyholders and shareholder’s funds and has a keen interest in risk and solvency management for the companies. He has also been a team member in corporate M&A deals. He is a qualified chartered account and chartered public finance accountant from the UK, with an internal gold medal being awarded to him while pursuing chartered accountancy studies.

Arunkumar Sethuraman has been with Orient Takaful since April 2021 as the Vice President of the Sharjah region. He is a Fellow at the Insurance Institute of India (FIII) in General Insurance. He brings on board 25 years of solid technical experience in various classes such as Technical Underwriting, Claims, Reinsurance, Property and Engineering & Broker Relationship Management. He has previously worked in India and Oman.

Shashi Sharma joined Orient Takaful P.J.S.C. in 2018. He is Chartered Insurer and a recognized Subject-Matter Expert in Marine Insurance and Risk Management, having widespread experience of more than 12 years with Indian Corporate Houses and UAE’s Top-tier Insurers. He heads the Marine Takaful operations in the UAE.
